  • January – February: Solo show at James Madison University’s Edith J. Carrier Arboretum in the Frances Plecker Education Center, Harrisonburg, Virginia.

2020

  • February – March: “Colors of the Blue Ridge” Solo show at Wilson Downtown Gallery with Artist Receptions on First Fridays (February 7 and March 6).
  • September – October: Solo show at Appalachian Physical Therapy in Harrisonburg.
  • September -October: Shenandoah Valley Watercolor Society Members’ Show. (Physically at VMRC but closed due to Covid-19. The complete show will be presented online on the SVWS website.)

2019

  • January: Solo show at Hess Financial in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
  • April 5 – May 10: “Valley Landscapes” Invitational group exhibit curated by students at Bridgewater College and hosted .
  • May 22: Nature Journaling for Adults at the Edith J. Carrier Arboretum at James Madison University. One-day workshop.
  • June 15: Teaching Nature Journaling at Appomattox Court House National Park. One day event for Nature Day in the Park.
  • July, August and September: Featured artist at Joshua Wilton House in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Meet the Artist July 5, 4 – 5 pm.
  • October 8: Nature Journaling for students and their parents for Valley Home Educators Association. One-day workshop held at the Edith J. Carrier Arboretum at JMU.
  • November 6: Nature Journaling for Adults at the Edith J. Carrier Arboretum at James Madison University. One-day workshop.
  • Fall: Teaching weekly art classes through a homeschool cooperative. This semester, advanced drawing to fifth graders and mask-making to sixth and eighth graders.

2018

  • January: Solo show at Wilson Downtown Gallery in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Artist’s Reception on First Friday January 5.
  • January and February: Teaching Beginning Watercolor six-week class.
  • February 11: Teaching a Bird Study Lesson with the Shenandoah Nature Journaling Club at Blue Ridge Community College.
  • February 15: Teaching a Nature Journaling class to Citizen Scientists at the Smithsonian’s Conservation Biology Institute in Front Royal, Virginia.
  • March and April: James Madison University’s Edith J. Carrier Arboretum will have me as their featured artist in the Frances Plecker Education Center.
  • June 15: Teaching a Youth Nature Journaling class at the Edith J. Carrier Arboretum. One-day workshop for ages 12-18.
  • September – December: Teaching weekly at a local homeschool cooperative. This fall: Advanced Drawing to fifth graders and Plaster Mask Sculpture (including face and body drawing lessons) to sixth graders.
  • September 7 – 29: Central Virginia Watercolor Guild Juried Watermedia Show at McGuffey Art Center in Charlottesville, Virginia. One piece.
  • September 9 – November 2: Shenandoah Valley Watercolor Society Juried Art Show at Park Gables Gallery, Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community. Four pieces. Judge’s award for Mossy Forest III.
  • October 24: Teaching Nature Journaling for Adults at the Edith J. Carrier Arboretum at James Madison University. One-day workshop.
  • December: Solo show at Hess Financial in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

2017

  • August: Two-person show (with Amy Shawley) at the Rockfish Valley Community Center in Nellysford, Virginia. Artists’ Reception August 12, 3:30 – 5:00 pm.
  • November: Three pieces accepted to the Juried Watermedia Show at Spitzer Art Center in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Judge’s award for Spring Ascending the Mountain.
  • November: Part of a group Shenandoah Valley Watercolor Society show at Oasis in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
  • December: Small Works Invitational at Smith House Galleries in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
  • December and January 2018: Solo show at Wilson Downtown Gallery in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Artist receptions on First Fridays, 5 – 8 pm.

2016

  • January 2016: Solo show at Wilson Downtown Gallery in Harrisonburg, VA.
  • VMRC Juried Show, May 29-June 30. Autumn on North River was accepted.
  • Virginia Quilt Museum “Art and the Parks” celebration. My paintings related to Shenandoah National Park were displayed in a one-day exhibit on July 30, culminating a month of national park events in honor of the park systems 100th anniversary.
  • Fourth quarter: My work can be seen in these  SVWS exhibit locations in Harrisonburg: Hardesty-Higgins House (nine pieces) and Taste of Thai (one piece).
  • December 2: I’ll be at Hardesty-Higgins House for First Friday (5-8pm) with my mother, who is also a painter. We both have paintings hanging in the gallery there. We will bring additional work and be painting live on the night of the Christmas parade.
  • Fall: Teaching art classes through a homeschool cooperative. This semester, Advanced Drawing to fifth graders and Printmaking to seventh graders.
